While winter is typically a time for growers to relax, the Glade Spring Farmers Market vendors are buy planning gardens, ordering seeds and starts, cleaning out green houses and getting ready to plant seeds. The hog, beef and egg producers don’t really see much rest in the winter but still look forward to the new season. And crafters are replenishing their stock with new items, ideas and products to offer to their customer … YOU!
The market’s annual kick-off meeting is schedule for 6:30 pm on Tuesday, March 21 at the Glade Spring Library. The meeting will be a planning session to lay out and establish the details for a successful 2017 season, including a start date in May in lieu of the normal last Saturday in April. Anyone interested in participating in the market is welcome to attend the meeting and learn more about the market plans for the season.
Work on the new Point Pavilion is in progress, with construction anticipated shortly. The market vendors are looking forward to opening day in the new market space and are confident they will be even better situated to serve customers both loyal and new.
In addition to attending the annual kickoff meeting, new vendors interested in selling at the 2017 market are invited to contact the market manager at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 276-429-5038.
