Michael Osborne, owner of Our Father’s House, in his own words.

It was an incredible experience representing the USA in the World Wrestling tournament in Plovdiv. The competition was elite.  I finished in 5th place. Received a bye first round and then wrestled someone from Kazakhstan. I won that match by a fall in the first period. Next was the semifinals where I faced Hedj Nelson from the USA. Hedj had just won the Greco Roman World Championships earlier in the week and was 2nd at a higher weight class last year so I knew he was tough. Lost that match and then after 2 byes I wrestled a South African (2nd in 2016 World) in the medal round for 3rd Place. The match was close but I also lost that match. There were 14 wrestlers entered in our weight class 58 kg, class E (56-60 yrs old). 50 countries represented in tournament.

I have no regrets and feel like I did the best I could given the abbreviated preparation schedule I was on, lack of freestyle experience, and elimination of lower weight class and older age bracket.

Thanks to all for prayers, support and encouragement. I thought of you often while in Bulgaria.
